AI and the HR Professional

AI and the HR Professional The World Economic Forum suggests we are on the cusp of a Fourth Industrial Revolution driven by ‘ubiquitous automation, big data and artificial intelligence’. The Institute for Public Policy Research, however, says that “despite the growing capability of robots and artificial intelligence (AI), we are not on the cusp of a ‘post-human’ economy.” IPPR suggests that an estimated 60 percent of occupations have at least 30 percent of activities which could be automated with already-proven technologies. As tasks are automated, work is likely to be redefined, focusing on areas of human comparative advantage over machines. The CIPD point out that “new technology has changed many more jobs than it has destroyed, and it does not destroy work. Overall, the biggest advanced industrialized economies have between them created over 50 million jobs, a rise of nearly 20 percent, over the past 20 years despite huge economic and technological disruptions.” Challenge, change, and competition There is no doubt that new technologies, ‘disruptive’ technology and innovation, and the risks associated with them, including skills shortages, are hot topics for HR professionals. We live in exciting times, where digitization and how to move from what we have now into the brave new digital world are an over-arching concern for HR directors. However, in many organizations, there  are those who don’t recognize the pace of technological change and how it is impacting business models and the competitive landscape. At 10Eighty we think it’s important that HR see AI and technological change as an inspiration with regards to innovation and productivity. The most successful companies will be those that are in step with technological change. What’s needed is a nimble and flexible organizational culture, and HR should see it as challenging and exciting rather than worrying. The CIPD suggests that “a key test for the future will be whether we can create resilient and effective structures and practices in the workplace and beyond to minimize the adverse impacts and maximize the benefits.” The way we work will change; while AI is unlikely to displace human labor, it is going to change the labor market, our occupations and the type of work tasks we perform. The automation of work, rather than occupations, has implications for all of us. Currently, nearly half of all time spent at work in advanced economies is on tasks involving the collection and processing of data, or predictable physical activities. These are the tasks most likely to be automated, leaving people to focus on activities such as managing and developing people, interaction, collaboration, and communication, creative and caring work and unpredictable physical activity. Top notch tools AI, predictive analytics, and machine learning, in which algorithms make predictions about data, are starting to make an impact on HR in terms of candidate search and selection, and also predicting learning retention. Some headhunters use machine learning to identify passive candidates through their online behavior and in learning and development, professionals now use algorithms to identify the topics that people would like to learn more about. In the meantime, chatbot technology is transforming areas such as induction and benefits administration especially when employees are looking for basic information. Chatbots are able to interact with multiple employees simultaneously, offering a self-service online HR database; such technology can save time and increase functional accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness. In short AI tools will help HR professionals with better, faster and more accurate tools. HR needs to work with senior leadership to ensure they understand the implications and to make a robust business case for introducing new technology and the benefits of deployment for employees and the organization.

Writing Minor Essays on Resume

Writing Minor Essays on ResumeWriting minor essays on resume can be a time consuming activity. If you are a writer then you know that it is a lot of work. In this article I will give you some hints on how to write a minor resume. Make sure you read the article and apply what you have learned. Now, let's talk about what to write minor on resume. Some examples are: Bachelor's degree from a specific college. Other examples would be that you worked at McDonalds one summer or you studied at a certain college but only your GPA shows that you went to that college. These are some of the tips I will give you in writing minor essays on resume. There are other strategies like applying to various companies you have applied to previously, researching the industry you want to get into and being specific about your skills and interests. The best strategy is to be specific with your abilities for you will be able to narrow down the choices of companies you should apply to. This will make it easier to n arrow down your list of possible employers. After you have completed the project you should ask someone to critique your paper. You can ask an acquaintance to look over your document and give you feedback on the way you worded your topics and the content of your documents. Another option would be to hire a ghostwriter to do this for you. Also, make sure to have a good mentor for you when it comes to writing resumes. As you progress, you will learn different ways to improve and you will be well aware of when things are not working.Writing a resume has always been hard. It will always be tough if you do not have some sort of direction or guide. If you do not want to hire a writer, I recommend you get a friend to do it for you.It is always a better option than spending too much money for a writer because there are so many writers available for you to choose from. You can easily find someone online and in your local library for a reasonable fee. So in my opinion, hiring a writer is a smal l price to pay to get yourself out of the job hunting hole you find yourself in.

Signs Your Marriage Is On The Rocks (And What To Do About It)

Signs Your Marriage Is On The Rocks (And What To Do About It) Its that time of the year again when it seems like the world has gone love crazy. Valentines Day is upon us. Advertisers are going bonkers over the usual, cliched gifts you can get your partner. But for many marriages, behind the flowers and the perfume, things arent going well. For whatever reason there has been a breakdown in communication. Perhaps one partner has stopped relating entirely. It can be a slow, but devastating experience and it is difficult to know where to turn. One sure sign that your marriage is floundering is when one partner feels that they cant express how they feel. Perhaps theyre worried about the reaction of the other partner. Or perhaps they feel ashamed. The problem is that this inability to communicate can engender hostile feelings on both sides. Never knowing what the other person is thinking or feeling can generate frustration. We want to relate to each other in marriage, thats why we got married in the first place. But sometimes relating seems too difficult. Theres a block in the road and we need to get past it. Failing to express how we truly feel can lead to all sorts of problems. If your partner cant express how they feel, it can often lead to feelings of rage and isolation. After a while, that frustration can get the better of us. Frequently we act out and things go wrong. Perhaps we feel so frustrated that we seek companionship in another person. Or perhaps we start feeling that we deserve better and want to move on. For most couples, the outcomes arent as a total breakdown in the marriage. But festering frustration can have serious knock on effects. One of those can be a loss in feeling a basic sense of relaxation around your partner. This is important because recent research has shown that couples that feel relaxed around each other are most likely to survive the long haul. If you feel that you cannot communicate with your partner, or your partner is not communicating with you, its a problem. The relationship can feel tense. Perhaps even Balkanised. Its all so different to how it felt on your first Valentines Day all those years ago, isnt it? The openness and honesty that was present then has, for whatever reason, vanished. Marriage counseling can do a lot to break through the barriers and to reestablish communication. Often its just a case of vocalising how you feel and getting over that initial resistance. From there you can work on other problems in your relationship. And think of the prize at the end of the road. Right now you might not want to make the effort with your partner; thats understandable. But if you put in the effort, youll be able to get back some of the magic you had on your first Valentines Day together. Whats more, a decent counselor or therapist can get you out of a rut. When youre with somebody with whom you can truly relate, youll get so much more out of life. Image Source; Image Source

Strategic Insight Into Acing a Sales Interview - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career

Strategic Insight Into Acing a Sales Interview - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career Running a recruitment company, I’m often asked by business development professionals as to my thoughts on interviewing for a sales, sales management or account management job. Frequently, I get three of the same inquiries and feel that it would be helpful to address these points and provide some crucial insight into how to approach the topics from a fresh, original perspective. Below, you’ll find these questions with some helpful thoughts to consider. Question #1: How many questions should I ask, which ones should I ask and when do I ask them? Essentially, they want to know how to approach this aspect of the interview. Answers: In sales, more so than in any other profession, it’s not about what you ask during an interview, rather it’s about how you come across when you ask it. When I’m interviewing potential applicants, sometimes they ask intelligent questions, though their body language and tone of voice tell me that they are skeptical, unfocused, disinterested or simply not engaged. In other instances, their questions are so unoriginal that it almost seems like they cut and pasted them from an internet article. It sounds harsh, but the result is that I don’t pass them on to my clients and they don’t get to interview. Companies pay my recruiting firm a lot of money partly to weed job seekers who do this out of the equation. What Do Strong Sales Interviewers Do? * A strong interviewer will be asking questions throughout the interview that are pertinent to the conversation. This shows that they are diligent listeners, understand complex situations and are engaged in the job we’re hired to recruit for. * They make it pleasurable to speak with them. They don’t bore me by asking questions simply because it’s customary to ask questions. * The most intelligent, persuasive and highly paid candidates base their questions on extensive web research that they’ve done about the company and the industry. Question #2: What questions do I like to ask interviewers and how I do judge the validity of that person’s answers. Answer #2: Here are 3 examples: 1. “If I were to meet one of your friends or colleagues at an event and they didn’t know you were interviewing at my company, what do you think they would say about you?” Let’s put it this way, if their answer is, “Bob would say I’m a great guy, a great employee and I’m great at what I do,” it’s a red flag. In the real world, people simply don’t speak that way. Instead, I look for thoughtful answers such as, “It depends who you ask. If it were my former boss whom I made a lot of money for it would be positive. If you asked a client I’d sure hope that they would describe me as hard working and as someone with integrity.” 2 “Describe a time that you failed?” I like to hear heartfelt stories that are honest. Rarely, do I judge an interviewer based on their mistake. Everyone fails in business at some point. Not everyone is secure enough to admit it. I particularly like the people who had the wind knocked out of them, though proved they were resilient and got back on their game. 3. “What do you think I want in an employee?” The most effective sales people can see things from other people’s viewpoints. Personally, I look for passionate, hard working, reliable and autonomous individuals. Essentially, I want someone who can execute so I can focus on my job. Regarding the answer, the closer they are, the more I respect them as applicants. Question #3: “How should I phrase my elevator pitch and what should I say.” Answer #3: I look for people who don’t oversell themselves, but don’t undersell their abilities. For me, something they say has to be original and interesting enough for me to want to speak to them further. In general, I like genuine and positive.
